The tiny details your clients actually remember

Another thing I love about Japan: they really care about the tiny things.

One of my favorite memories from our last trip was passing by an elderly woman trimming the weeds in the one-by-one foot patch of green outside her apartment with verrrryy teeny scissors.

Like she was giving each blade of grass its own loving haircut.

And I feel it everywhere in Japan.

🙌 Change is handed to you with both hands.

🍲 Dishes at a meal are placed on the table with intention.

🚽 And every toilet comes with a full computer that has more buttons than my laptop.

So much care is put into every little detail.

Which is honestly very humbling for me, because I am the biggest culprit of rushing through everything - esp in my business 😭

Running a business is fast-paced by default.

And done is better than perfect” is one of the reasons I’m still sane.

But pausing to focus on the little things makes a big difference, especially when it comes to client work.

✨ The small details are what turn your work from “good” to unforgettable.

SO HOW DOES JAPAN DO IT?!

(Okay, yes, their famously long work hours probably play a part 😭)

BUT ALSO… they have a (say it with me) SYSTEM for everything.

(Remember??)

You simply won’t have time for thoughtful little touches if you’re constantly drowning in:

❌ manual tasks

❌ inefficient workflows

❌ reinventing the wheel for every client

Putting in the legwork ahead of time to build solid systems gives you the breathing room to make the tiny details shine once a client starts working with you.

A few examples that go further than you think:

  • A contract that takes 30 seconds to send and sign.

  • A mid-project update so they’re never wondering what’s happening.

  • A bonus deliverable that surprises and delights.

None of these are heavy lifts.

These are things you can automate 😘

Clients might not remember every little detail…But they WILL remember how easy it was to work with you.

When your systems are efficient, you finally have the time to slow down and trim the tiny weeds of your small business 💚
