I sent an email every day this month: THE RESULTS!

I sent an email every weekday in September.

Here are the results with one week left to go (because I'm BUSY next weekend, so this is when I'm writing this email LOLLL)

Here's what happened!

🤨Did the day of the week matter?

Fridays were the weakest for opens (shocking no one), so I’ll stop sending on Fridays. Wednesdays were hit-or-miss, so as I scale back, I’ll likely skip them too. Everything else felt pretty steady.

🤨What about unsubscribes?

I don’t track them closely (for my mental health teehee), but historically I’d see mostly zero, with the occasional one or two. This month had fewer “zero” days, but still never more than a few per send. I’m OK with this. I see this as cleaning out my list, leaving only those who reeeaaallly want to read my stuff (and hopefully driving up my open rate).

🤨How was the Clickthrough Rate?

It dipped from 3.3% to 1.8%. I’m also OK with that. My emails are for nurturing, and I rarely sell directly from them. From customer interviews, I know that my best-fit clients often read my stuff for months before they reach out to work with me. I also know my referral partners read my emails, and that is who sends me most of my clients! I care most that you’re reading, and clicks are a bonus.

🤨Did my Open Rate drop?

A tiny bit. It went from 52% to 47.9% - so not enough for me to worry about. Honestly, I emailed A LOT, so I'm surprised it wasn't even lower!

🤨And LinkedIn?

I reposted my email content to LinkedIn at the same time to see what happened. All of the relevant metrics before / after this month are so tiny that it's not really worth reporting. Days of the week also didn't seem to make a difference either!

🤨 Did I sell anything?

I only sold one process mapping session directly from email.

THAT BEING SAID! As I mentioned before, email is a nurturing tool for me, as I believe in surround sound marketing.

I've received A LOT of compliments and positive feedback during Zoom meetings, Slack DMs, email responses, and even my husband's coworker DMd him about my LinkedIn content 🤣

I sold a few other process mapping sessions, and I know that's because my referral partners and potential clients are watching me and reaching out when the time is right.

My content is landing, and it's encouraging me to keep writing!

🤨 So what's next?

I like writing, so I'll keep doing it. But I'll probably slow down to give both of us a break :D
