"Slow is smooth, smooth is fast" is something I've heard they teach EMTs and ambulance drivers.

It means, slow down so your thinking becomes smoother (clearer).

Because you work quickly when your mind is clear,

rather than having to double back to fix your mistakes.

So the next time you are rushing through your business because you simply CANNOT slow down, remember that professionals with one of the most urgent and stressful jobs are moving more slowly than you.

Sometimes I find my business moving so fast I feel like I'm about to give myself whiplash.

Sometimes it's thrilling, sometimes it's stressful.

And to borrow Charlie Sheen's most common phrase from his recent documentary:
