I've been selfish.
You know that one hidden gem of a restaurant you love?
The one you want to have enough customers to stay open,
but you don't want them to be SO busy that the uncool mainstream crowd gets in there and ruins it??
(RIP Orlando Meats. I still dream of your curry pizza. You were always empty, and I took you for granted. )
And because of this... You might subconsiously not bring it up in conversation, relative to how much it means to you.
This is how I feel about Lex Roman's Legends.
Lex has built something really f*cking cool, and I don't tell just every Tom, Dick, and Harry about it. (me! with my big mouth!)
And when Lex said they have a goal of getting 200 folks to join Legends by the end of the month, I realized I needed to say something.
So this email is me telling you what Legends is and why I love it.
But first, what ISN'T Legends?
It's not a community with a container that Lex moderates. It's not on Circle or Mighty Networks (although there is a loosely affiliated Slack channel).
OK, so what IS Legends?
It's one part access to Lex's brain via their content (Revune Rulebreaker),
one part access to other members of Legends via events that Lex hosts.
Devin, I already have stuff like that.
NOPE - YOU DON'T! THIS IS DIFFERENT!
Lex is one of the VERY few people whose content I consistently read. They run their business differently, look for unique solutions, and don't settle on the typical way to do things because they don't want the typical things out of life (something I resonate with deeply).
Their content comes in the form of newsletters in your inbox, their paywalled content from the past, and all the stuff in their shop.
But more importantly (to ME!),
Lex hosts coworking, events, and workshops where you can meet other Legends.
There is an ongoing joke amongst some of the early-on Legend members:
We all immediately joined for the LEX of it all, but weren't sure what it even was. How to explain Lex to those who aren't already in their world?!
Lex put it best in this post they made about why you should become a Legend:
"People joined at first because of me. They stayed, and others kept joining because of each other."
And the events Lex puts on are unparalleled.
I am not exaggerating for the dramatics of writing an exciting email - these mixers are so well done that we very much look forward to them.
And just being in Lex's network, I have been introduced to almost all of the important people in my world.
People who have become some of my closest friends on and offline (globally!).
People who have become my favorite clients.
People who have been there for me when being an entrepreneur pushed me to the edge of sanity.
What to know more? Or even join? Jump on in!
Lex wrote a whole thing about WHAT Legends is exactly.
But if you have more questions after you read, just respond to this email and I'll tell you all about it <3
